Airborn Disapproval

From the Telegraph:

Showjumping rabbits tipped to become Britain's most talented pets

A pair of rabbits called Bubbles and Lilac are among the favourites to become Britain's most talented pets.

The hopping, skipping and showjumping rabbits are in training for the finals of a nationwide competition to find the country's most amazing pets.

Bubbles and Lilac are being coached by owners, twin brothers Mathew and Thomas Haslam, both 15, in the garden of their home in Moorends, Doncaster.

The brothers have set up their own stable of 20 rabbits complete with a show jumping course with different fences to test out the rabbits' jumping powers.

DR on Wonkette

Faithful reader Carol just pointed out that popular political gossip blog Wonkette linked to Disapproving Rabbit Dr. John in an unrelated story.

And as long as we're doing links, now would be the perfect time to point out that Cute Overload has a 2009 Desktop Calendar coming out! And there's a mighty angry bunny on the cover...

So get an early jump on your holiday shopping!

We got your links right here...

For the two people in the world who don't read Cute Overload, I suggest you head on over some rabbitish action of the cute variety.

Bunspace

The Big One Who Picks Me Up tells me I have a Bunspace Profile.

One more thing I have to do before my nap.

Vote for Disapproval

Just got an email that one of our featured buns, Scotchie, is taking part in the Bissel Most Valuable Pet Photo competition. If Scotchie wins, then Bunny Buddies of Houston will get $10,000, and Scotchie's owners will get a vaccuum cleaner, which I assume will scare the heck out of Scotchie.

The deadline for this round is tomorrow, the 19th, so if you're so inclined, go here and cast your vote (or go here and see all the competitors).

Links

I periodically get requests to link to sites here at DR.com, but being a lazy rabbit who enjoys loafing in her cardboard castle, I don't usually get to them in a timely manner. However, after some prodding by the Big One Who Picks Me Up, here are a couple of sites which may be of interest to you:

The Little Warrens is a rabbit boarding facility in the UK which is having a contest for photos of buns with a "Skwirty," a white "splodge" on part of it's body.

Holy Cuteness is a frequent commenter on this site who also has a blog of adorable animals. Frankly, I'm not sure I approve of all this cuteness.

Finally, a reminder that February is Adopt a Rescued Rabbit Month. I'd like to remind you all that I myself was a shelter bunny, and I knew I was in for a good life as soon as those two walked in. I think their heads literally turned into suckers. So, if you have the space in your home, consider adopting or fostering a bun in need.

Blossom

Fine, put me on your "naughty" list;
But come Easter, the tables
will be turned, Old Man!

Thanks, Jessica!

And this post is as good a reason as any to post to my favorite Yuletide website: photos of children being Scared of Santa, courtesy of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. I approve!

MSNBC

The Birdchick gets interviewed about how bunnies secretly rule the internet on MSNBC:

And it's about time, I say! Also covered are more bunny sites of which I approve, such as Rabbit Bites and 30 Second Bunny Theater. Read on!

Disapprove-o-Lantern

Speaking of cool pictures on other blogs, we got an email from Julia where she decided to terrify evil spirits and/or neighborhood children using the most frightening image she could find:

Instructions and more pics at the link. Thanks, Julia!

Bunsplosion!

I highly recommend checking out the explosion of disapproval going on at Cute Overload. It gladdens my disapproving heart to see bunny indignation spread so far and wide!
