Lit Gloss

The Philadelphia Weekly's Lit Gloss column gave us a nice mention:

The photographs in this book prove Cinnamon was not unique. Each and every rabbit therein gazes autocratically, and Stiteler has helpfully provided translations. A portly white puff sternly says, “Are you still here?” A reddish bunny on a leash says, “You know, not everyone can wear spandex.” A similar-looking bunny, this time enjoying an outdoor scene, says, “Your insufficiencies wound me to the core.” That’s right, folks. You’ve got 179 pages of this, and you’re going to laugh at about 160. You can’t say that for Danish existentialists. If I remember grad school correctly, they aren’t nearly as judgmental as bunny rabbits.

What Nietzsche knew about despair, he learned from rabbits. It's a fact. There's more good stuff at the link.

Disapproving Rabbits In Indianapolis

This is a photo by John Rubbo, the official photographer of the Minnesota Companion Rabbit Society. He took this at the DreamHaven Book Release party.

Well, we have a whirlwind trip to Indianapolis coming up next week. Cinnamon and I will be on Daybreak Saturday Morning on WISH TV sometime between 8:30am - 9am. That afternoon, we'll be doing a book signing at Big Hat Books at 4pm. Members of the Indiana House Rabbit Society will be on hand with literature about whether or not a rabbit is the right pet for you and have live foster bunnies.

I don't think I can manage a Birds and Beers, we just don't have enough time on this visit--I have a large family so it's hard to squeeze everything in. Speaking of which, my mom will be at the signing. If you think I'm short, wait until you see her. And if anyone is curious, Non Birding Bill will be on hand too on bunny wrangling duty. So, come meet Cinnamon and learn about a great rabbit organization in Indiana.

Another photo by John Rubbo at the signing.

Showcase Minnesota

The Birdchick took me on Showcase Minnesota last week. I disapproved, but got treats out of it.

Intercontinental Disapproval

We got a mention in the Saturday edition of the The Guardian:

We may kid ourselves that animals are our friends and we coexist with our pets in mutual needy harmony, but the truth is that they can't stand us and only hang about for the food - and watching the telly and playing with all our stuff when we go to bed, of course. In the case of the quite spectacularly grumpy rab-bits here, it goes slightly further: they don't just dislike us, they despair at our pathetic human ways. At least that's how it looked to Sharon Stiteler, who saw in every photograph of her floppy-eared pets the same disapproving looks grimacing back at her. Now, Cinnamon (don't be fooled by the cute name) is an internet celebrity and foolish human folk knit jumpers for her. Obviously, she and others like her are decidedly unimpressed by such behaviour.
Thanks to writer Johnny Dee for the mention.

MSNBC

The Birdchick gets interviewed about how bunnies secretly rule the internet on MSNBC:

And it's about time, I say! Also covered are more bunny sites of which I approve, such as Rabbit Bites and 30 Second Bunny Theater. Read on!

Washington News Tribune

Well Cinnamon is popping up all over Washington! Yesterday someone emailed to say they saw her clip of eating parsley on Seattle's KOMO TV and this morning, the Washington News Tribune has a story on the Disapproving Rabbits book!

The Big One informs me that my book got an entry in the USA Today Pop Candy Blog, along with sample pages.
He seemed excited about it. So excited that he interrupted my third nap. Harumph.

Blog It Toledo

Hey, Disapproving Rabbits got a mention in the Toledo Free Press...

They are the first blogging bunnies I've come across in my online ventures.
That's right...  because there is no secret cadre of bunny bloggers. Anything you hear about an online bunny conspiracy is rampant hearsay and idle speculation from people who should keep their fat mouths shut!

Oh, and thanks for the link, Lisa!
