Sharon posting here instead of Cinnamon because I just had to express my excitement and gratitude to artist Marcy Hall. The whole Disapproving Rabbits thing has been one heck of a ride. We really did just start it for fun and it totally blew our minds that it would ever become a book. But it's the little things that have happened since that makes me smile. When Marcy emailed and asked if I would mind if she did a portrait of our Disapproving Rabbit, we were honored and we looked at her work and loved the whimsy. What came in the mail when she finished was not only huge but just amazing colorful fun!
We tried showing it to Cinnamon and she hid in her Cottontail Cottage judging it right away to be a thing of evil.
We tried to coax her out with her favorite snack (Nutriberries) so she could get a good look at her portrait and maybe even disapprove of it a little.
Her tummy eventually got the better of her and she came up to give it an inspection and ask the eternal bunny question, "Can I chew this?"
"Does that portrait make me look fat? I'm not sure I approve!"Despite Cinnamon, Bill and I absolutely love it. Marcy even managed to work in a few bees into the painting as well the quote, "Disapproval is a very important factor in all progress. There has really never been any progress without it."--James H.
