Uh-oh.... Get out while you can, Claire.

I suspect there is a nefarious plot is being hatched by these two nogoodniks and fear for the safety of your ankles....

You get the mask
I'll get the chainsaw
You get the drop cloth
And I'll get the hacksaw
She'll never see it comin'
Till she sees her blood a-runnin'

You get the arsenic
I'll get the strychnine
You get the hatchet
I'll get the clothesline
She'll get a big surprise
We'll pluck out her eyes!

Oh brother - mayhem and disaster. I always suspect EVERYTHING with a pair like that. Don't let 'em out of my sight.

"Psst, Operation Footwear commences after she goes to bed.

Stage 1: You poop in her right shoe, I take the left
Stage 2: Nibble edge of slippers
Final Strike: Chew through all shoe laces

Confirm? Over."

I don't know, Pippin. That is a lot of creative reimagining.

"Ouch! ouch! Monty and Pippin, what's gotten into you??" says Claire.

"By the biting of your thumbs,
Something wicked this way comes!" her buns reply!

... oooh, double the trouble and diss without approval! Consequences of slacking with bun chores. Sigh...

I think maybe Pippin is hiding something ..one more bite and the table is a goner. Hopefully nothing heavy or fragile on it .... It will make a grand big noise though - probably about 2:30 am.

Pipin, she doesn't even have a pulse. No, no, Monty, she's just playing possum. Are you sure, Pipin? That would be an awfully clever thing for her to do. I know, Monty, but she sees possums all the time on trash night. Still, Monty, you're right. Who knew she could be as clever as a possum. Pipin, I'm getting a little scared here...as clever as a possum! Well, Monty, she was pretty good at her bun chores.

Anonymous, are you sure Monty and Pippin aren't giving stoopid hoomin beans more credit than they deserve? Going so far as to say that a hoomin is as clever as a possum is insulting to possums!

Well, J2B, all I can say is those bunns look to be young ones. The true nature of the beans has not sunk in yet. It is in their defense just hard for an intelligent species like bunns to accept. They always want to give us the benefit of the doubt and hope that advanced research will bring something to light. Anyway, thanks for the heads up. I'll be on the outlook for the possum backlash. Many, many years ago, my husband and I took classes from our local Wildlife Rescue group. One of the rehabers at the class had long silky blond hair and little possums were clinging to "mum". One of these very small critters was passed around to the group. My husband has never gotten over the tiny little guy growling at him.

Yes, yes...it's true....young buns always have their illusions shattered when hoomin beans turn out to be much more stoopid than they thought.

And a tiny baby opossum growling at a hoomin? Maybe opossums have previously unknown stoopidity detecting abilities! I expect your husband trembled with fear and shame.

Yes, J2B, he did. Thank you again, J2B. You know he's really never wanted to talk about it. I see now why he was so deeply affected. What we need is some kind of outreach program for people who are suffering from facing their outer possum. I guess we have to leave the young bunns to the mercy of bunn acculturation, but I think it is a shame that these two should have reached this weight and not have been a bit more prepared.
