Hoppy Hour with Flemish Giants

Another Hoppy Hour video: this one's about six minutes long. At this event, there were three Flemish Giants (as well as a young one that didn't go out on the mat this time). You can see in a couple of shots how much larger they are than Dougal.

I recommend watching this one on YouTube at the highest resolution your connection can handle.

UPDATE: Sorry, everyone, my goof. The video is now public.

Thanks again to the Golden Valley Humane Society for hosting.

Dougal Ears! This makes my day! He's such a big, adorable goof ball...but don't tell him I called him a goofball! I've got enough disapproval for the day from our bunns Noel and Frankie.

1. I thought bunnies shouldn't wear collars? I tried to put one on my bun and I thought she'd choke herself trying to get it off!

2. What (besides people petting them) keeps the bunnies on the mats? My bun might not have much traction on solid floors, but that certainly doesn't stop her!

3. I soooo want to record the inner monologue of some of these rabbits. They're talking, we just need to learn how to listen.

Wow~ It looks like Dougal is really getting over his shyness - Yay!
Those ears are the just living end, aren't they?

Katie, no bunnies should not and do not need to wear collars. :(

I just love finding "our Dougal" in the bunny crowd. The floppitude of those ears.....aaahhhhh.....

And I simply must have a Flemmie someday! Er...I mean.....I wish to put in an application to be a Flemmie's indentured servant....

This video made my day. Thanks for filming these hoppy hours and making them available! I love seeing all the different breeds of disapproval <3 <3 <3

-Is there a hoppy hour in the Seattle area? Can I go if I don't have my own rabbit?

Lalis said...

Oh, this video made my day! Thank you for putting it up! One of my life goals is to have a Flemmie!!! Or two... :)

I am the proud mom to a Flemish Giant named Attila the Bun. They are the kindest, sweetest buns ever. I love him and I am happy to be his mom.

You can see a clone of many of the blog-o-sphere bunnies we know and love!

Dougal IS a goof-ball.

YAY I love the Hour of Hoppiness!
That lionhead girl in the very first frame looks just like my little Meany Girl! That Flemy had HUGE ears! I do think Dougal has bigger ones, though. He looks SO "hoppy". Like when your child finally realizes preschool is FUN and they stop crying for mom and dad and just start owning the place. Dougal totaly owns Hoppy Hour.
The Lord Frith made Dougal a very well cut, sharp looking rabbit.
Rabbits RULE!!!!!

Great video!

And it's good to see young Dougal finally getting over his shyness.

The big Flemish Giant bunnies had great ears too!

But they're all such cuties!

I approve of Hoppy Hour!

And of seeing Dougal in any setting, of course!

We LOVE Hoppy Hour videos around these parts! Our guinea pigs even like watching, in a puzzled, perplexed sort of way!

That. Is. Aaaaaaamaaaaaaaaaazing!

I loved watching hoppy hour as usual, and the lion head wasn't getting any attention because the Flemish Giants were getting the lion's share of attention! They are HUGE! Looked to me that there was a big turnout this time. Loved the long video! Thank you so much for posting these! :D Big happies!

I would soooo be kicked out of hoppy hour for getting on the mat and rolling around in the floor in fits of ecstacy!

I feel I need to remind everyone that young Dougal is destined t become BEO of DR. When that happens, his readings of "the minutes" of previous posts is going to be a dreadful moment of truth. I really can't imagine the fate of those who called the lad "a goof ball."I suggest you spend your time trying to come up with an acronym - G is for ghastly, etc. Those who made comments about the Young Master's ears before he grew into them will get an earfull on that day. And J2B "floppitude?"You are never going to get references for your FG indentured servitude request. Just remember every doopid hoomin has her/ his day and then the bunny makes 'em pay!

I think Anonymous is snitching on those of us who have made big ear comments. You know what "they" say about rabbits with big ears...(blush)

And let me remind you hoomim sycophantic bunny brown nosers what happens to snitches...

A: Best case scenario - they go home in stitches
B: Worst case scenario - they end up in ditches!!!!!

This is awesome!!! I'm so jealous!!! Since this is the first "hoppy hour" I've seen, I have a few burning questions. First, how do you ensure that each bunny is spayed or neutered? How do you keep them all so calm and keep them from getting aggressive? (it can be so hard even in one on one bonding sessions to predict when a bun is going to go psycho-killer on another bun). what if a bunny tears off that mat and runs for the hills? fascinated. intrigued. want. (althoguh I think my rabbit would be overwhelmed).

You're going to need a bigger box.

@anonymous: You are so right! When will I LEARN?? I must not incriminate myself by using words like "floppitude" if I EVER want to be indentured to a Flemmie. It's sort of like posting drunken pictures of yourself on Facebook, only to have a prospective employer find them six years later. Any Flemmie prospective master will hand me back my application form, with REJECTED scrawled across it in big red letters. The form will have copies of my DR posts stapled to it, with the offending comments highlighted. I will scuttle away, sobbing.

Dougal's ears must create a delightful cooling breeze as they flop around when he hops by. Very handy on a hot summer day!

brandi b: In stitches or ditches, you still have to play your kazoo at my "ceremony."

Dougal's ears ... I can't help it. He'll have to torture me later... Bwahahahahah! I love those ears! There is nothing more happy in the world than Dougal's ears! If everyone watched an hour of Hoppy Hour per week, I bet crime rates would go down, wars would end, endangered species would repopulate!

christine said...

oh those ears!! dougal makes my heart melt. does anyone know what breed he is?

SixBunnies said...

Dougal is a rare "Big Goofball" breed of the large eared variety and I WUV HIM!!!

SixBunnies said...

To my knowledge, this is the only Hoppy Hour around, correct?

SixBunnies said...

UGH! I JUST WANT TO REACH IN AND TAKE THAT COLLAR OFF THAT PRECIOUS LITTLE AGOUTI COOTIE! Someone "enlighten" his or her mommy or daddy that is so wrong!

Fleetie, it is Monday. I wish I could make it better for you, but all I've got to offer is my groveling toward the end of Beule's comments. Be of good cheer.

Fleetie said...

Anonymous, it's ok, because here in the UK, it is a bank holiday, so I don't have to go to work.

On the other hand, tomorrow will be my Monday!

I will Not Approve of tomorrow! But today is ok.
