At my house...we call that a death flop. And if you don't see it happen, it can scare YOU half to death. Sometimes I think the bunnies do it, just for that effect.
Muneez, I think the bunnies may be playing at Epics Re-enacted. The wayfaring heroes have been cast onto a dismal shore and must first eat for the strength to mourn their flopped friends. Humans must be at hand for the bunns to play this game. Everyone thinks of The Bunnessy, but there are many other epics to choose from.
And now, another exciting episode of CSI Bunloafia. Here we see Sara and Nick arriving at the crime scene to begin the task of gathering bunevidence and to ask that burning question: who killed the bunner and why????
A Lily on a bed of greens A stiff white corpse at first glance Stiff and white as a Yule log But No! Not dead by any means Tis not a coma nor a trance She is just a greedy hog
The Dead Lop Flop gets me every time! My Mr. Coooper is pretty much deaf, so I have to get really close to sense breathing and inevitably scare us both waking him up with a hoooge hooomin staring over him, three inches from his nose...
O, I flop, Horatio; The potent parsley quite o'er-crows my spirit: I cannot stay awake to hear the news from England; But I do prophesy the election lights On Fortinbras: he has my snoozing voice; So tell him, with the occurrents, more and less, Which have solicited. The rest is silence.

She tried to eat all the parsley herself again.

"That's right, Lily! Play dead! Now we call the BunCops and fit up the hoomin!"
"Yeah! We can say that the hoomin was so stoopid that Lily died of shock!"
"That's right! Then the hoomin will be sentenced to be Disapproved Of for the rest of its natural life! THUMP!!!"
I am overcome by her cottontail.
I have to stifle a giggle here b/c it looks like her compadres will just eat around her.
At my house it's called a flopticated bunny. Our bunny decided to retire at the same time I did and we see this all of the time.
Is that a hint of a smile on the "dead bunny"?
@Katie: I'm CONVINCED they do it just for that effect.

The ghost of Lonesome Billy is lurking in the shadows...
I was bunnysitting once and came across the guest bunny doing The Dead Lop Flop. I just about had a heart attack!
Thank you, b! I enjoyed that!

Janet, when my lop boy does dead lop flops, he uses one of his ears as a sleep mask.
