Harness training with Dougal

Little video of the training Sharon's doing with Dougal to get him used to a harness, so we can take him out to the park once the weather gets nicer.

Human tolerance = ZERO
Harness disapproval = MAX

Oh... wait... nutriberries you say??

Harness tolerance = BEARABLE as long as you keep passing those TREATS.

Love him!!!

He's so wonderful. I love how he hurled off the harness.

It's like getting a horse used to a saddle...except it's a Dougal bun and a harness ;)

You guys are amazing! And that Dougal is one gorgeous bun!

Keep up the good work! I'm looking forward to pics of Dougal at the park!

Thanks - I needed the laugh. Good luck! Lucy will come for treats but that's as far as it will ever go for her.

Bribery! (Works!) Patience too!

You better have a bigger harness in the ready - Dougal is going to one big boy!!!!

Hahaha - I loved that. My Bun comes when I call her, and I've never tried to put anything on her before. We should get a harness and try it out!

Loves to Dougal - such a handsome boy.

That dog has really long ears. ;-)

The first steps toward a lifetime of hackey sack critiquing! "If you miss the joy, you miss everything." RLS

Thank goodness Dougal is not going to let us miss it.

Dougal is such a handsome bun, and also very talented at training his humans to dispense treats.

Just don't let him tell you that the Cliffs were closed ;)

I have a theory.. Rabbits generally know what you want, they just don't care until you make it worth their while.

I love his well-appointed apartment. :-)

He is a big boy. And so dang kyoooot. I think he finally filled out those ears.
I want another bunny now...

I think Furbeast is right; and that the "training" is actually going in the other direction, i.e. from rabbit to hoomin!!!

He's a cutie anyway! Can't wait to see much more this little guy! Especially when he's out in the world!

Good technique. Bribery never works with my Mr. Bun-bun; I have to appeal to his noblesse oblige. Keep the videos coming; this is fun!

Oh, what a big handsome boy Dougal is!

Oh he's so gorgeous. AND BIG - look at the size of those paws! He certainly seems to have settled in, good luck with the harness training.

Wish we tried the word association/positive reinforcement.

Dougal really is a cutie! Can't wait to see more pics/vidoes!

Oh how cute!! Now I'm wondering if our 9 year old Californian, Lily, is too set in her ways to learn this.

Is it possible to train an old, grouchy bunny who thinks she's in charge??

I think she'd love to go outside! Right now she just ignores anything we ask her to do ...

But, maybe I'll learn from Dougal's training!
