Reader Nancy S. sent us a link to this video of Champis, a sheep herding bunny. Here's a little more info from iO9:
Champis lives on a farm near Käl in Sweden, where he's kept as a beloved pet. I wonder if this video says more about the rabbit, who seems to very much enjoy chasing the sheep around, or the sheep, who aren't particularly picky about the animal doing the herding.Good work, Champis!

It's brilliant, isn't it? I was sent it yesterday from someone in New Zealand and I sent it on to a friend in Sweden... which is wear the bun is... the farmer is saying that the bunny is the boss of the chickens and the sheep. His owner said that he bunny likes to be well liked but he also likes to be the boss. I just love how the sheep seem so frightened of little orange bun.
I have not laughed so hard in a long while!!! I love the section around 2.07/8 where the one sheep turns around as if to dispute Champis's authority; Champis charges; and then the sheep decides not to mess with the bun!

Yeah, herding sheep is all fine and good, but can Champis stand on his hind legs and give paw like Dougal does? (Though Champis doesn't have to wear a harness that makes him look like a big gay watermelon. ;-)

I'm not sure Champis has the finer points of herding down since the sheep seem to go left..right..left...right... But knowing bunnies, he's just thrilled that he's the boss, and the sheep know it!!! (although, I was concerned a few times that they had trampled him!) That bunny lives a happy and fulfilled life!!!!
Well, I guess the dog wasn't doing it correctly, so, once again, a bunny had to take over. Hotel management (see Ruddy), shepherding; no matter--buns just do everything better. Champis was even shepherding the farmer for a while there! We are all just so inferior; how do we live with ourselves?
For me, the most amazing discovery about rabbits was their intelligence. Before becoming a bunny parent, I simply would not have believed things I now consider routine. Even so, this sets a new standard.
I too was sent this by someone who "always thinks of me when she sees bunnies." I LOVE this bun!
Next, let's see Champis take on the Chicken Police. Or herd some fainting goats!

I don't have much to add. Plus I am ill and feel rubbish.
But this little bunny is so full of spirit and authority! Look at the way his bunny legs go, as he runs rings around those sheep! He really is having fun!
And he's so stern with them; he snaps at them if one dares to question his bunthority.
I just hope he continues to be very careful and doesn't get himself trodden on accidentally. Careful, little bun-guy!

I would like to see him herding cats. My money is still on Champis.
I think the point isn't so much to herd them to any particular place so much as to offer Champis some recreation. He doesn't seem to tire!

Ruddy and Champis agree; it's only bunnies that know how to do things right! Champis disapproves of large black and white dogs neglecting their sheep herding duties. Clearly Doggie doesn't know how to do it. Watch and learn, Doggie! Watch and learn!
Fleetie, we thoroughly disapprove of your being ill! Hope it's nothing serious and that you'll soon be as fit as a sheep-herding bunny.
Valsainte: Thank-you! I disapprove of being ill too, cos my job contract says if I'm off sick, I don't get paid. So I'm having to go to work.
It's only a cold, but an unusually nasty and tenacious one.
