Cinnamon

Hello all.

It is with deep sadness that Sharon and I tell you that Cinnamon has passed away. She had a wonderful life of some 13 years.

As you can imagine, this is an emotional time for us. We're going to take a break from the website for a week. Starting next Monday, we'll have a week of rabbits for you (that were set to run this week), and then we'll see what happens from there. No decisions have been made; we're just taking it one day at a time.

Please feel free to post your comments below. If you feel like donating, please give your money, resources, or time to a local animal shelter, which is where we found Cinnamon.

And, as always, for your love and support of this website, we thank you.

My rabbit friend Bun and I were sad to hear of your loss. Cinnamon was a great inspiration in Bun's life and we have Sharon & Moose Snyder to thank (thru @nasatweetup, of all places). Bun even started to spread 'The Gospel of Disapproval' to all of his friends. Even though they had never met, Cinnamon meant a great deal to Bun. We both send hugs and warm thoughts to you and your family.

I'm dreadfully sorry. Cinnamon was so beautiful and clearly a bunny of great character whose place in your hearts must now be an aching void.

There's a candle burning for her here http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/message.cfm?l=eng&cid=13555477 and its page is here if others want to light their own http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/candles.cfm?l=eng&gi=DRab

My very deepest sympathy. I'm sure you shared lots of fun and love for the time that she was with you and I'm sure she's left a great big hole where her disapproval used to sit - we don't have them for very long, but what a huge impact they make on our lives. Although this is a difficult time - you were both lucky to have found each other and shared something so precious.

I'm so sorry for your loss, I understand how painful it is to lose a little bunny. Cinnamon has brought so much joy to so many people. I have one of her pictures (the one where she is eating a carrot top) hanging on my office wall, right across the computer, so every time I raise my eyes from the monitor, I see her cute disapproving face. Has helped me get through the day.

May you find strength in each other during your sorrow.

I am so, so sad. I cried yesterday and just couldn't face leaving a message. I am starting to cry again, but I must let you know that Cinnamon, you two, and all the DR family have meant everything to me through some very tough times. There is a Catholic prayer call the Hail Mary. Ever since I met Cinnamon I have always prayed it this way: Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners and for those of us who do not sin, especially bunnies, now and at the hour of our deaths. Holy Mary, please pray for the Life, the Livingness of this world. A little spirit has moved on, and I am very, very sad.

Because I could not stop for Death,
He kindly stopped for me;
The carriage held but just bunselves
And bunimmortality.
We slowly drove, he knew no haste,
And I had put away
My labor, and my leisure too,
For his bunivility.

We passed the school, where bunnies hopped
At recess, in the ring;
We passed the fields of gazing grain,
We passed the setting sun.

We paused before a house that seemed
A swelling of the ground;
The roof was scarcely visible,
The cornice but a mound.

Since then 'tis centuries, and yet each
Feels shorter than the day
I first surmised the horses' heads
Were toward buneternity.

With apologies to Emily Dickenson; I have always thought this is one of the nicest poems about passing on. RIP Cinnamon.

I came to know Cinnamon through your YouTube channel. The first video I saw of her was the one where she was eating the carrot top. I watched it over and over; it made me smile ear to ear. Pancakes, pumpkin and Nutriberries--Cinnamon was quite the connoisseur.
I am sorry for the loss of your beautiful girl; you will remain in my prayers. Please take comfort in knowing that Cinnamon brought happiness to many, many people.

I'm so sorry to hear this. Losing a 13 year old child is impossibly difficult... our thoughts and prayers are with you. We've celebrated the blessing of being loved (however subtly) by our bunnies through the years by regularly reading DR. Thank you for all the laughs, smiles, and company.

Sharon and Bill, my deep sympathy on the loss of Cinnamon. Hopefully the thought of seeing Cinnamon's furry face by the rainbow bridge/in the veggie garden in the sky just before it settles into THAT LOOK of disapproval for fun will help ease the pain at least a little. Take care of yourselves, and again, you have my sympathies.

Bunny + angel = bungel. This works better than Angel + bunny, which works out to Angny. Thanks very much for sharing.

I was sad to read that Cinnamon had hopped over the Rainbow Bridge. She was truly a wonderful bun. I'm sure she would be disapproving of our sadness.

On behalf of bunnies everywhere, we thank Cinnamon for her courageous and unwavering disapproval under even the most pleasant circumstances.

Seriously, Cinnamon had an amazing life and her influence cannot be underestimated. Through Sharon and Bill, Cinnamon's impact on encouraging rabbit rescue and adoption, proper care, and spreading the word that rabbits make wonder pets has made a difference in what must be thousands of lives, both human and bunny.

But seriously, thank you Sharon, Bill and Cinnamon for spreading the word about rabbit rescue and adoption, proper rabbit care, and just how wonderful bunnies are to have in the home. In all likelihood, Cinnamon directly saved thousands of bunny lives.

I am sorry for your loss, it is always hard to loved one. Cinnamon's picture has adorned my husband's cubical for some time now, he jokingly uses it when he has to disapprove of a subordinate's proposal, it has helped him keep a positive environment at work. Thank you for sharing your bunny with us.

My condolences for your loss. 13 years is a good long life for a bun, and you doubtless gave her a happy home. Sadly this probably makes it even harder for those that loved her to say goodbye with so many years' bunny memories everywhere around them. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, and doubtless your Cinnamon bun is looking down on our sadness with quiet disdain, wondering why the fuss when she is in a happy place with carrots and no old age and our world is still so full of wonderful things (dandelions, carrots, bunny friends etc). May you find peace and a way to hold onto those happy memories.

--Sincerely, Fancy Bunn (and her human, Cait)

Cinnamon was well loved not only by her people in the house but everyone here, despite being given up once when you found her in the shelter she obviously went on to have one of the best bunny lives. I hadn't checked on the site regularly for awhile and I needed a cute rabbit pic so I came here, the day of the post with Cinnamon's regal pose. I thought "Another pancake episode perhaps?" but then saw the words. I disapprove of the scenario but I greatly approve of how well she was cared for in her long life.

Thank you for continuing the site.

Cinnamon single-handedly conquered a huge corner of the internet. Every bunny on the net knows Cinnamon. It shows that a bunny and her humans with some talent and a great spirit can influence a part of the world.
Animals only have a few short years, and when they have a sweet human to share, they have lived a worthy life. be proud of the time you shared.

My sympathy for your loss. I have been there and I know it doesn't really go away, it just gets easier to work through. I'm honored that I got to meet Cinnamon once, at a book signing in Indiana. She had the softest coat I think I've ever felt. I'll give my own buns an extra cuddle today in Cinnamon's memory.

Dearest and Most Feared Cinnaomon:

Our lives were as nothing before your unrelenting disdain. Know that despite your absence, we will always understand that our existence is only (barely!) tolerated, never condoned, and always ferociously disapproved of.

Abjectly Yours,
Smokey

In the age of the internet, Im sure Cinnamon has managed to do her part, more than anyone else yet, to bring attention to the joy of bunny ownership. I imagine countless shelter buns found loving homes with new families inspired by the disapproving rabbit phenomenon. Not to many critters can say they accomplished so much, and gave back so much to the good of their species! Congrats on giving a great life to such a iconic furbaby- She will be missed!
