... Can't help it ... will risk life and limb to go hug Grandpa! Look at him! He is just trying to look grumpy!

I love that name. It's so perfect for him.
We can't bust heads like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to tell 'em stories that don't go anywhere - like the time I caught the ferry over to Shelby-ville. I needed a new heel for my shoe, so, I decided to go to Morgan-ville, which is what they called Shelby-ville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. "Give me five bees for a quarter," you'd say.Now where were we? Oh yeah the important thing was I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...
ROTFLMAO DB!! Man I could HEAR Grandpa Simpson's voice as I read that!
That was the best few minutes I have spent all day! Thank you DB!
DB: Are you sure you weren't at my parents' house last Christmas? You sound just like my Uncle Harry!
Grandpa bunny is delivering a withering disapproval to those tearaway hoomins who STILL show no respect to their elders and BETTERS - the rabbits!
DB...I love your story...more please!! Actually, it sounds just like the letters my dad used to get from his relatives in Pennsylvania. They were filled with angst and bad news...Aunt Ruthie fell down the back steps and broke her hip, Joey got busted for both pot AND moonshine, George ran for Mayor and only got three votes and two of them were from his parents, Neighbor Pete accidentally burned down his garage on the 4th of July, Cousin Dave caught chicken pox from his 2nd grade students...you get the drift. I was going to collect them all, change the names, and publish a small book. Unfortunately, my mom threw them all out when Daddy died. Alas, they were classic gems. (I think in Pennsylvania during the war you could only get the purple onions...)
Thanks dogsleder, I really wish I could take credit but not my story, it is a quote from the Simpsons. "Grandpa" Simpson to be precise.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARXfQzfl9EQ
grandpa there is part of my family so i guess i'm happy for him making his dr debut, no, not really. i completely disapprove of him stealing the spotlight.btw. he turned 10 first part of june, he has earned his name.
@DB: Thanks for the link. So funny!
Grandpa is a might good-looking (if somewhat disapproving) ten-year-old. [Make that totally disapproving!] And thanks for the laughs, DB.
