I don't think you really "adopt" Ginger. With disapproval like that, you apply for the position of indentured servant. Work without pay, sleep on the floor, and all the pride you can swallow.....sounds about right!

Aw, San Diego is only 90 miles away from me. Although I know Ginger would disapprove of me , I think she would find Benjamin to be quite nice.
@Jan: Some rescues will help adoptive families with transports. If you're serious about adopting Ginger, you never know....if Ginger checks your references and finds you acceptable, San Diego might arrange a transport for you, part way anyway....you could ask.....
It might depend on how earnestly you can plead your case with Ginger, though. Just sayin'....
