I've rethought this rabbit ... at a maple sugar operation, they boil the sap and boil the sap ... now and then they toss a spoonful of it out in the snow to see if it is right.

When it is - voila!!!!!!!!!!!

Tee hee! My bun is famous now! Maple is a sweetie. I submitted her with a quote that said that the snow would continue until she had finished molting, because she looks kind of ragged right now, being mid-molt. But the new quote is good too! :-)

@RG: Actually, that was a favourite school field trip in Quebec when I was a kid. They would take us out into the countryside to the sugar bush (area where sugar maples grow). Then they'd dribble the maple syrup out on the snow and we would scoop it up with popsicle sticks and eat it mixed up with the cold snow....yum yum! Delish!

@j2b - yp me too in Northern Michigan .. going to the sugar bush was a great treat and a real eye opener. All that sap drip dripping from so many trees to then boil down and make so few gallons of the syrup! In those days, every tree had a spike and a bucket ... today they have lots of tubing amongst the trees.

Thanks NBB and BirdChick and Queen Cinnamon for letting us hijack your blog to enjoy some old fond memories!
