I hope something happened to make him really dirty, because giving buns baths is not good and should only be done as a last resort! (they can get hypothermia really easily)

J2B, even TinyBuns are more disapproval than the sum total of their tiny bits.
Good gracious don't squeeze the little guy ... expelled disapproval expands over a thousandfold .. everything within about 3 city blocks will need immediate evacuation or else a bevy of depression-counselors.

the key to keep buns from getting a chill after a bath is to use a blow dryer. but it requires patience, a good size rabbit (5-7 pounds) can take about half an hour to get completely dry

I used to have several rabbits and they loved having baths!
"OH NO!"I howled as I stared at the box. "They really shouldn't put something like dat in fine print!" i whimpered. The rabbit glared at me with so much hatred in his eyes it was scary. "I deeply disapprove of u." The rabbit said in a voice colder than ice.

this is Bandits owner. We in fact did only wash him this one time due to the fact that he was transported to the pet store with another bunny who had used him as bunny toilet paper. He smelled real bad!

I'm SO happy to hear that this adorable little bun is OK, and that baths aren't part of his regular care ... it sounds like you had a good reason for this bath - rabbits shouldn't be used as toilet paper, even by other rabbits
it would seem logical that they would need bathing once in a while like a dog or cat (made that same mistake myself when I got my 1st rabbit - lots of us do) ... but it's SO, SO hard on them and it takes a long time for them to recover from it - as mentioned by others here bathing or washing a rabbit should only be done for a very, very good reason (like in this case, to remove feces and prevent possible flystrike) ... never just to make them clean or for the heck of it
when a wet washcloth, cotton ball or Q-tip doesn't clean them up, sometimes you don't have any other choice but a short, quick bath with lots of gentle drying and a warm place for them to air dry for a while
in the wild, grooming takes care of 99% of their cleaning needs, and the occasional dust bath or running through wet/damp grass does the rest ... these are just one of those animals that nature intended to stay dry for the most part (with the rather bizarre exception of the 'swamp rabbit' that actually seems to go into water on it's own)
this is why websites like this can be so important to people with companion rabbit ... we all have to learn somehow
