Caught on film: Audible Disapproval!
When Cinnamon is irritated, she will grunt. The other night, Cinnamon wanted a treat and I wanted to pet her. When I would try to give her some bunny love, she would grunt in irritation:

I secretly love that noise. I make it back to my little guy when he does it. Of course, his disapproval mode is so high that he also grunts when happily *eating* his treats...
Cinnamon's disapproval amp is at 11! That's one higher than the usual 10!!
haha... that makes me feel better about MY grunty bunny!
It's so funny to see Cinnamon being cranky. I love those bunny grunts. Sometimes my LillieBun does the same thing when I try to move her furniture. Of course, sometimes those bunny grunts are telling us we might need to back off a little--like when Matilda thinks I didn't get the food served up soon enough.
adorable!
I guess we won't mention that Cinnamon has little bit of 'lion butt' shed pattern going on. That would probably get me grunted at.
lol.. my first rabbit would grunt when he was happy, my second when he was running... my little guy now only grunts when he's mad... I miss the happy grunts.
lol - she's a character... comes back thinking she's getting treats maybe but nope, just pets! archi ann grunts when you pet her cuz she doesn't like being petted... mostly... sometimes she does!
Bunny grunts! My Daisy (also a Rex) only grunts when she's happy. Clearly she could learn how to be cranky from Cinnamon!
That's not a grunt! It's a "harrummphh"! LOL!!
Der's 2 uv us dat grunt: Lucky D becuz she hates 'most every-one an' every-bun, and Carl who thinks the dinner (lunch, br'fast) cart is too darned slow. Mom just laffs at us ~~ PPFFFFTTTTTTTTTT!!!
this totally made my day. no, my week!
I love the bunny grunts. Fiona is the big grunter here when she doesn't get her way. Orlando only grunts when he fights over treats with Fiona.
I've never heard a bunny grunt befo'. She sounds like a goat! Adorabuls. :)
Bunny grunts are awesome. Normally silent, but they certainly let you know when they disapprove! My bunny grunts when picked up or when she really wants her food. It's funny!
Oh I agree with Gail!! It's harumphs out loud!!!
Cinnamon is such a character! My dearly departed big bun Bandit would grunt when she got oats.
my little girl bunny, petunia, was grunting like crazy yesterday when she wanted to just lounge and my boy bunny, petri, wanted to play.
and she was even more vocal when I picked her up. LEAVE ME ALONE, MOM!
Our bunny Cleopatra grunts when she wants to be left alone, this is also follwed by the stomp of disapproval.
I was explaining bunny personality to someone by saying that they are like long eared, vegetarian cats.
Of course, the bunny would say that cats are short earred carnivore bunnies.
Haha, awesome. Geronimo doesn't make a sound, but she's starting to thump when she's really mad (usually at us).
Only some of my bunnies grunt like that, but I love the sound. ; )
One of my bunnies makes an especially fine example of the noise we call the Hoinck... because it is a combination of a little honk and a pig's oink.
OMG! That is sooo cute! Go Cinnamon!
I love the bunny grunts and moos. Mine moo more than grunts.
That bunny needs a grooming it looks like. ;)
A mooing bunny? I'm scared.
My rabbit Johnny, when older and milder than he had been in his younger days, loved to be petted, but greatly disapproved of the petting to stop. I often stopped briefly to watch his ears slowly rise, his eyes half open and then he'd start growling until I continued petting. It's more growling than grunting to me and very different from the soft "uf uf uf" sounds they make when communicating. Who said rabbits had no voice?
Johnny hated moulting time, and I suspect it it just a very itchy business. He'd sit in the back of his large outdoor enclosure, back hunched and grinding his teeth. Not treat could please him and even dandelion leaves (his favourite food) were wacked out of my hands with his forepaws, accompanied by a very loud growl-grunt. Poor old boy.
awww that was really cute! I never heard a bun make any kind of noise before, lol!
Niblet has never vocalized even a little bit, and I wonder if he ever will. I've pissed him off plenty of times, but with nary a comment from him (other than backfoot-flippies).
Aw adorable grumpy bunny!
I'm very familiar with that sound. My rabbit Fluffy used to make it at varying volume whenenver she was annoyed (it didn't take much to annoy her).
